The executive director of UDD Ventures explains the details of the event that will take place between Sonami and the business accelerator starting in December of this year. The Technological Foundation for Mining (institution belonging to the National Mining Society) together with UDD Ventures and in collaboration with the Alta Ley Corporation , will carry out “Mining 4.0 Seminars, Digitalization Roadmap” , an initiative that arises from the interest for promoting and facilitating the incorporation of digital technologies in the mining industry. The executive director of UDD Ventures, Angel Morales , explains to MINERÍA CHILENA the details of this series of 6 events that seeks to deliver content that provides new knowledge, guidance and criteria to executives who work in mining companies and supplier companies.

What are the expectations of these seminars between Sonami and UDD Ventures? This was born a few months ago, with the focus on our interest in having a more permanent activity in the north of Chile. We are very interested in starting to work and eventually having operations in Antofagasta, given that we know that Phone Number List we can contribute to Mineras both by working with startups and with their SME suppliers. Given that, we saw a good opportunity to be part of a training program in digital mining and industries 4.0, to start from there to position ourselves and do permanent work with medium and large mining companies in the north of our country. There is also an issue of cultural transformation that in mining there is a lot to work on, especially with the equipment and people who operate in mining operations, and obviously with the executive staff of small, medium and large mining companies. Furthermore, mining, in addition to its role as a driver of the Chilean economy, can also be an engine to boost the economy by linking more deeply with startups and also with SMEs that provide mining. In your opinion, what aspects can be highlighted? Mainly we will be working on six modules, from the development of technologies in operations, open innovation and future challenges in mining. We will have great speakers with real business cases, discussion and reflection in each of these six sessions. We will also have a focus on new and best practices in mining both at the level of implementation of technologies and cultural transformation within mining operations.
